New to blogging...

This blogging thing is definitely a whole new world for me. I always wanted to write a book, I felt I had so many stories to share. Somewhere between dropping out of college three times, one crappy relationship after the next, moving from here to there and back, and having a baby; I forgot to write my book. So now, between multiple jobs, diaper changes, play dates, and court dates (child support) I decided to try my hand at blogging. Here goes nothing.....

Memorial Day Weekend~

A weekend designated to Fun and Sun!! Most importantly though it is a time to remember our soldiers. All the brave and fearless men and women who have fought and continue to fight for our country and our freedom. I have many of these said soldiers in my family. Immediate and Extended. I am so proud of each and everyone of them for a multitude of reasons. I want to tell all of our soldiers Thank you so much for your blood, sweat, tears, courage, dedication, hard work, and bravery. Because of you I can sit at this computer and write about what I chose. I want to also Thank our soldiers families. For their continued support of our soldiers, sometimes you have a harder job than the soldiers themselves. Thank you!!! You are never forgotten and always appreciated in my book!!!

Onto my weekend, It was a beautiful 3 and a half day weekend. I had plans for swimming, soaking up some sun, a yard sale, movies with the girls, BBQ's and going to the lake. However, my weekend consisted of none of this. That's right NOTHING happened all weekend. Let's recap, I got off work at noon of Friday. I was to clean house and get ready for a BBQ w/my girls. I did a lil shopping, bought an easy open slide for my lil one, and headed home.
I get home and my living room looks like a tornado went through it. Toys all over the place, laundry piles here and there. You know the kind of mess I am talking about. Tip toeing through the mess hoping not to step on that skate that is hiding under the baby blanket. Yeah, it was that bad. So I did what any parent would do, I decided I would set up the slide first. This way when I pick up Lil Bit it is ready to go. (The mess can totally wait) (Trust me it will still be there when the slide is set up)
Ok, so easy open slide.. yeah right. The box looked so simple. Open box, un- fold slide, and its ready for play. Upon opening the box I find the slide is in pieces. Not just one or two, no we are talking 8 pieces with a baggy full of like 14 screws. Quick and easy job has now gotten a little harder.
Alright, so I kick off my shoes, grab a glass of tea and a screwdriver!! I am ready to tackle this job!!! I look at the instructions, and yep you guessed it only has pictures. What happened to instructions with words and pictures?? I need both!! So I huff, and puff, and take a drink and begin to pretend I know what I am doing.

An hour later, My whole pitcher of tea is gone, and the slide is put together and proudly taking it's place in my front yard. So now off to pick up Lil Bit and show off the new slide and get ready for the BBQ.

We make it home, just in time for people to start showing up. My yard was full of lawn chairs. The house was still not clean, but the slide was together and we had company to enjoy. Our BBQ turned into a "Let's call Sonic and eat in the front yard" kind of get together. We had plenty of food, plenty of conversation, plenty of drinks, and even got to enjoy some surprise company.
The rest of the weekend I got nothing accomplished. Scratch that, I did 4 loads of laundry, built a fort in the living room for Lil Bit, and a dozen or two diaper changes. I would say all in all, I had a quiet and relaxing weekend!!
